Pilates roller and yoga roller: what they're for and how to choose

A pilates roller, also known as a yoga roll, is a versatile accessory for working on mobility, supporting your back during exercises or releasing muscle tension after training. In this collection you'll find round foam rollers, cork rollers, stuffed fabric rollers and a 4-in-1 model with a massage stick and ball.

If it's your first time, read what a foam roller is and what it's used for before deciding on a format.

How to choose your foam roller for pilates

• Length: sizes available are 30, 33, 45, 60, 61 and 90 cm. Longer rollers let you support your whole back; the 33 cm ones are more compact and easy to carry in your bag.
• Material: you'll find foam, PVC, EPE and cork (in brown, 45*10 and 33*10 cm).
• Diameter: round foam rollers are 14 or 15 cm, and cork rollers are 10 cm.
• Type of use: if you want more massage options, the 4-in-1 model includes a stick and a ball.
• Colour: some models are available in blue or multicolour.

For a more comfortable workout, pair your pilates foam roller with an exercise mat, and add resistance bands if you want to round out your mobility routines and gentle strength work.
